Smart Start of North Carolina was created in 1983 to provide “at risk” children with early educational experiences that would ensure success in school. Bedford Falls was chosen to provide literacy materials for Charlotte-Mecklenburg’s “Books, Books, Books” seminar and math manipulatives for its “Math, Math, Math” program.
